Teen Charged in Derbyshire Stabbing Murder

An 18-year-old man, Noah Smedley, was stabbed to death in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, prompting a murder investigation led by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit. The incident occurred on December 28 around 8:20pm, and despite emergency services' efforts, Smedley was pronounced dead shortly before 9pm. Seven individuals, including four 17-year-old boys suspected of murder, and others suspected of assisting an offender, have been arrested. A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with Smedley's murder, with a trial set for July 28. The police are treating the incident as isolated and are appealing for information, including CCTV and dashcam footage from the area.
