In Cairo, Fidan met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues, focusing on the Gaza cease-fire negotiations mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, as well as Israel's plans regarding Gaza City and the broader humanitarian situation. Fidan also addressed developments in African countries such as Libya, Sudan, and Somalia. Additionally, Fidan held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, congratulating Azerbaijan on the historic achievements from the recent Azerbaijani-Armenian summit in Washington. Both ministers emphasized the importance of the peace agreement and the joint declaration signed in the presence of the U.S. President, highlighting their role in promoting regional peace and the anticipated dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Process. The talks also reinforced the strong Azerbaijani-Turkish alliance and their cooperation within regional and international organizations.
