Port Adelaide Legend Travis Boak Retires After 19-Year AFL Career
Travis Boak, a Port Adelaide AFL legend and former club captain, has announced his retirement at the end of the 2025 season after an illustrious 19-year career. Boak, who debuted in 2007, has played 384 games and is expected to reach 387, ranking seventh in all-time V/AFL games played. Throughout his career, he earned three All-Australian selections, two John Cahill Medals as Port Adelaide’s best and fairest, and was runner-up in the 2020 Brownlow Medal. Boak is celebrated for his loyalty as a one-club player and for surpassing club games records, including the milestone of 350 AFL games in 2024 and breaking the club’s all-time games record in early 2025. Known for his leadership and consistency, he has been a highly respected figure both within Port Adelaide and across the league. Following retirement, Boak plans to return to play for his hometown club, Torquay Tigers, honoring his late father’s legacy.
