British Granddad Faces Attempted Murder Charges Florida Holiday Dispute

Mark Gibbon, a 62-year-old British businessman vacationing in Florida, faces attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to drown his former daughter-in-law, Jasmine Wyld, during a dispute over his will at the Solterra Resort near Disney World. The family feud reportedly began years earlier when Gibbon’s son, Alex, discovered Wyld in his father's bed, leading to a massive family rift over Gibbon's relationship with his ex-son-in-law's former partner. Wyld, 33, separated from Alex in 2021, but they share two children who were present during the incident. The tensions escalated following Alex’s imprisonment for crashing a Porsche into his father during a prior public altercation, after which the father and son ceased communication. During the alleged attack, bystanders intervened and called the sheriff’s office, stopping Gibbon from holding Wyld's head underwater.
