Michael Heslin’s Husband Files Lawsuit Over Alleged CPR Failure by Vegas Restaurant
Michael Heslin, a 35-year-old actor known for his role in the series "Lioness," died from a sudden cardiac arrest during a birthday trip to Las Vegas in July 2024. His husband, Scotty Dynamo, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Javier's restaurant at the ARIA Hotel, alleging that staff failed to provide timely CPR and prevented a diner from performing lifesaving measures. The lawsuit claims that restaurant employees, despite clear signs of Heslin's medical emergency and the presence of an automated external defibrillator (AED), did not initiate aid and removed friends who attempted to assist or record the incident. The suit lists counts including wrongful death, negligence, and gross negligence, seeking damages exceeding $30,000, funeral expenses, and punitive damages. MGM Resorts International, the operator of the ARIA, has denied the allegations and stated it will respond through legal channels. Heslin's death has been described as an "avoidable tragedy" by his husband, who mourned the loss of his "soulmate" and emphasized the shock given Heslin's previously perfect health.
