Blake Lively's Film Opens SXSW Amid Legal Dispute

Paul Feig's sequel to the 2018 thriller 'A Simple Favor', titled 'Another Simple Favor', is set to premiere as the opening night film at the SXSW Film Festival on March 7, 2025, before its release on Prime Video on May 1. The film, starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, follows their characters, Stephanie and Emily, to Capri, Italy, for a wedding disrupted by murder and betrayal. Despite ongoing legal issues involving Blake Lively and her 'It Ends With Us' co-star Justin Baldoni, Paul Feig confirmed that these have not delayed the film's release. Feig expressed his excitement about returning to SXSW, where he previously premiered 'Bridesmaids' and 'Spy', and mentioned the fun of revisiting the characters. The film also stars Andrew Rannells, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney among others. The SXSW festival, running from March 7-14, will also feature premieres like Seth Rogen's 'The Studio'.
