Temple University Honors Police, EMS for Heroic Actions in North Philadelphia

Temple University recognized its police officers, dispatchers, and security personnel during an awards ceremony at the Liacouras Center for their exceptional service and life-saving actions. Notably, Sergeant Lauren Boone was honored for her quick response when a 700-pound air conditioning unit fell on a construction worker, applying a tourniquet that ultimately saved his life. Her husband, Lieutenant Kamari Boone, was also recognized for his compassionate intervention that prevented a student from self-harm. The ceremony highlighted the dedication of all honorees, including those with years of service who embody the university's core values of service. Temple's Vice President of Public Safety emphasized the importance of annual recognition events to connect families and honor the sacrifices of first responders.
