Ott Tanak crashes
Ott Tänak's participation in Rally Finland has come to an abrupt end following a crash during stage three, where his Hyundai i20 N lost control in slippery conditions, rolled, and hit a tree. Co-driver Martin Järveoja was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks, while Tänak emerged unscathed. Both drivers managed to exit the vehicle without assistance before medical crews arrived, leading to a brief suspension of the stage. Prior to the incident, Tänak was sixth overall in the competition, significantly affecting his chances for the World Rally Championship title as he now cannot earn points for the weekend. The crash has also compounded issues for Hyundai, whose other car faced difficulties later in the rally. Following the incident, Kalle Rovanperä of Toyota has taken the lead in the event.
