Shaboozey Sues Warner Chappell and Kreshendo

Rising country star Shaboozey has filed a lawsuit against Warner Chappell and his former record label Kreshendo Entertainment, alleging they are obstructing his efforts to buy out of his contract following the success of his hit single 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)'. In the lawsuit, Shaboozey claims he invoked a contract clause allowing him to pay 110% of unrecouped balances to exit the deal early, but Warner has allegedly refused to disclose the necessary balance figures. Shaboozey's legal team accuses Kreshendo of instructing Warner not to provide this information, effectively stalling his attempts to regain control over his music rights. The singer, who terminated his contract with Kreshendo in 2019, also claims the label has released songs without his consent since their agreement ended. With 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' achieving significant commercial success, Shaboozey is seeking to leverage this moment to reclaim his publishing rights. Representatives from Warner and Kreshendo have not yet commented on the lawsuit.
