Thailand Sees 107,000 Flu Cases, 9 Deaths Reported

The Public Health Ministry noted that the most common strain is A/H1N1 and that new cases are rising by approximately 15,000 each week. All nine deceased individuals had been vaccinated against the virus, highlighting the importance of immunization, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. The highest infection rates have been observed in schools, prisons, and military camps, prompting health officials to recommend strict preventive measures in these settings. Since the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, influenza cases have been increasing annually, with colder weather contributing to higher transmission rates.
