Kaseem 'Ka' Ryan, a revered underground rapper and New York City firefighter, has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52. Born and raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, he was known for his introspective and minimalist lyricism, self-releasing eleven albums, including 'The Thief Next to Jesus.' Despite initial struggles in the 1990s, he made a notable comeback with his debut solo album 'Iron Works' in 2008. Ka was also a respected captain in the FDNY and a 9/11 first responder.
