Indian Military Couple Found Dead by Suicide

In a tragic series of events, Indian Air Force Flight Lieutenant Deendayal Deep and his wife, Army Captain Renu Tanwar, both died by suicide within a day of each other. Deep, 32, was found hanging in his Agra residence on October 15, shortly after showing no signs of distress during a dinner with colleagues. His wife, stationed in Agra but visiting Delhi for her mother's treatment, took her life on October 16, leaving behind a note requesting that her last rites be performed alongside her husband. The couple, married for less than two years, hailed from Bihar and Rajasthan respectively. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding their deaths, which have left their families and military colleagues in mourning. The Indian Air Force is conducting a parallel inquiry into the suicides, which have raised concerns within the armed forces community about mental health support.
