Carolina Panthers Plane Slides Off Runway

The Carolina Panthers faced a tumultuous return home after their preseason opener against the New England Patriots, losing 17-3. Following the game, their chartered Delta Flight 8860 landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport around 2:40 AM but slid off the taxiway into mud, resulting from recent weather conditions. Fortunately, all 188 passengers, including players and staff, were unharmed and safely deplaned via towed stairs by around 3:45 AM. Delta confirmed that the incident occurred after a normal landing and apologized for any inconvenience caused. The team, which is under new head coach Dave Canales, suffered a disappointing start to the season after a challenging previous year. With Bryce Young as quarterback, the Panthers hope to improve as the preseason continues.
