The BJP is set to begin a 10-day padayatra from Bengaluru to Mysuru on July 31, protesting alleged scams related to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and calling for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's resignation. In response, Karnataka's Deputy Minister DK Shivkumar accused the BJP of trying to discredit Siddaramaiah and destabilize the Congress-led government, asserting that the Congress pioneered padayatras in India. Shivkumar challenged BJP leaders to a public debate and vowed to expose one scam per day during the BJP's march. The BJP's padayatra is seen as a strategic move ahead of upcoming bypolls and aims to highlight irregularities during Siddaramaiah's tenure, particularly those involving land allocations to his family. Meanwhile, Shivkumar emphasized that any irregularities occurred during the BJP's own time in power, promising to reveal details of these alleged scams.
