Marriott Signs Seven City Express Hotels in Brazil Northeast

Marriott International is expanding its global footprint with significant hotel development deals in Brazil and South Asia. In Brazil, Marriott has signed an agreement with FÁBRICA DE HOTÉIS to introduce seven City Express by Marriott hotels, marking the brand's debut in the country as part of a 15-year plan to open 30 properties across the Northeast region, including key locations like Ipojuca and Porto de Galinhas. These midscale, affordable hotels will offer over 750 rooms catering to both business and leisure travelers, supporting Brazil’s growing tourism and economic sectors. Concurrently, Marriott has entered into a portfolio agreement with Ventive Hospitality to open seven hotels across South Asia, including the Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s debut in Sri Lanka and multiple properties in India, expected to open in 2030.
