The bar industry, in particular, anticipates a 30% increase in business due to the festive atmosphere and colder weather encouraging locals and tourists to spend. Conversely, the jewellery sector has faced challenges, with rising gold prices leading to a decline in per capita spending despite an increase in visitor numbers. Overall, the holiday season has fostered a vibrant consumer environment, with pharmacies also reporting significant sales growth in personal care products. This surge in visitor arrivals underscores Hong Kong's appeal as a festive destination, with nearly 300,000 more visitors recorded just before Christmas compared to last year.
