The Akron men's basketball team secured an 85-78 victory over Toledo, overcoming a 12-point halftime deficit to remain undefeated in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) with a 4-0 record. Nate Johnson led the Zips with a career-high 28 points, complemented by Amani Lyles and Shammah Scott who contributed 16 and 12 points, respectively. Akron rallied in the second half, outscoring Toledo 55-36 and showcasing a strong bench performance with 41 points. The Zips' defense also played a crucial role, limiting Toledo to 37.5% shooting from the field. Meanwhile, the women's team lost to Central Michigan 75-55, despite a strong individual performance from senior player Brown, who scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
