Suspect Charged in Galveston Infant Death

In Galveston, Texas, a baby girl was found abandoned near the Seawall Boulevard and later died from trauma at UTMB Galveston hospital. Police discovered the child on 59th Street between a Kroger store and the Beachfront Palms Hotel after receiving reports around 10 a.m. The infant was in critical condition upon discovery and was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Authorities have not identified the baby but have detained a suspect who is facing charges of capital murder.
