Seattle's Space Needle welcomed 2025 with the 'Alaska Airlines New Year’s at the Needle' event, noted as North America's largest structurally launched pyrotechnic display. At 11:52 PM, a dazzling show featuring 500 drones, including formations like the Alaska Airlines tailfin and a giant octopus, captivated thousands both on-site and via broadcast across the Pacific Time Zone. The midnight finale included the biggest fireworks display ever from the Needle, supported by a powerful light show using 160 fixtures. Musical performances featured Seattle's own Sugar Bones debuting their new single and a soundtrack of hits from 2024's top artists like Beyoncé and Sabrina Carpenter. The event emphasized safety with strict protocols in place for the drone show, following recent accidents at similar events.
