Judge Orders New Yorker to Submit Clancy Interview

A Plymouth Superior Court judge has ordered Condé Nast, publisher of The New Yorker, to provide all audio recordings, notes, and communications from an interview with Patrick Clancy, husband of Lindsay Clancy, who faces charges for the murder of their three children in 2023. The interview, published by The New Yorker in October 2024, detailed Lindsay Clancy's mental health struggles and alleged that she heard voices urging her to commit the murders. Patrick Clancy described his wife as someone who was ill, rather than a monster, and expressed forgiveness for her actions. Prosecutors requested the materials as part of their investigation, and the defense is reportedly preparing an insanity defense, arguing Lindsay was suffering from postpartum depression and was overmedicated. The materials must be submitted by March 14 as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
