Fraport secures 23-year concession contract at BWI Airport

Fraport Baltimore Partnership LLC has been awarded a 23-year contract by the Maryland Aviation Administration to manage and redevelop the retail and commercial services at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). This decision follows a competitive process led by the Maryland Department of Transportation and builds on Fraport USA's existing management since 2004. The partnership aims to transform the airport's offering by redesigning over 118 concession spaces to enhance passenger experience and promote local brands. CEO Sabine Trenk emphasized the commitment to exceed customer expectations and foster community engagement through innovative service concepts. Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul J. Wiedefeld highlighted the contract's potential to bolster the state's economy and enhance BWI's food and retail scene.
