Bexar County woman indicted for felony animal cruelty

Havannah Miller, a 23-year-old woman from San Antonio, has been indicted for felony animal cruelty after a video surfaced showing her repeatedly beating her three-month-old poodle, Thanos. The Bexar County District Attorney's Office confirmed the indictment, which carries a potential punishment of 180 days to two years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000. The incident, which occurred on January 18, garnered public outrage, leading to a petition demanding maximum sentencing for Miller that has received over 30,000 signatures. Following the incident, Thanos was taken into custody by Animal Care Services and is now being cared for by a foster home. District Attorney Joe Gonzales expressed his commitment to holding Miller accountable and emphasized the office's zero-tolerance stance on animal cruelty. The case is set to proceed in the 187th District Court.
