Council Bluffs recycling center
In the aftermath of severe storms, the Council Bluffs Recycling Center is providing free drop-off services for tree debris from residents, with operations extending until Saturday. Meanwhile, Des Moines Public Works will conduct a single curbside collection for storm debris on Monday, requiring residents to place eligible materials at the curb by 6 a.m. for pickup, and the debris must meet specific size restrictions. West Des Moines is also organizing a collection from designated areas, where branches of any size must be placed between the curb and sidewalk. Both Des Moines and West Des Moines will not collect materials from private contractors, who are responsible for their own debris. Residents can also utilize the compost center in Des Moines for additional waste disposal. Earlier this month, Des Moines crews had already removed 900 truckloads of debris following previous storms.
