Zynga has launched a new event for its mobile RPG Game of Thrones: Legends, titled 'The Dragon Egg Hunt', which utilizes Google Maps for a global treasure hunt where players can search for virtual dragon eggs. The event encourages players to navigate a map inspired by the iconic Game of Thrones opening credits, offering various in-game rewards and opportunities to unlock milestone prizes collectively. Since its launch on July 25, 2024, the game has generated significant revenue, with half coming from US players. Zynga's EVP of mobile games, Yaron Leyvand, expressed excitement about using Google Maps' 3D tiles to enhance player immersion in the Westeros universe. Players can also win real-world prizes, including a Google Pixel 9 Pro and collectible figures, during the event, which runs until February 24, 2025. The Dragon Egg Hunt is designed to attract both new and returning players with its interactive format and prizes.
