Marquette University Mourns Natalie Black Kohler
Natalie Black Kohler, a prominent figure in the Marquette University community and former general counsel for Kohler Co., passed away at the age of 74. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Marquette in 1978 and was a significant benefactor, known for her support of scholarships and fundraising initiatives, including the development of the Law School’s Eckstein Hall. Kohler Black was also instrumental in guiding Kohler Co. through significant growth and global expansion during her 33-year tenure with the company. She was the widow of former CEO Herbert V. Kohler Jr., and was deeply involved in numerous charitable organizations, particularly in Wisconsin. A devoted advocate for literacy, education, and animal welfare, she established the Black Spring Foundation to support these causes. Her legacy will continue through the Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship at Marquette and her philanthropic contributions.
