Former Congressman George Santos Loses Bid to Dismiss Charges

Former U.S. Congressman George Santos faced a setback as a Brooklyn judge rejected his plea to dismiss charges in his criminal fraud case, which include aggravated identity theft and theft of government funds. Santos, a former Long Island congressman, was ousted from office in 2023 due to a multitude of lies about his background and finances. The charges against him also involve wire fraud, unemployment fraud, and lying to the Federal Election Commission.
