NBA Franchise Values Ranked for 2025
CNBC's latest NBA franchise valuations reveal that the Golden State Warriors lead the league at $9.4 billion, followed by the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers at $7.5 billion and $7 billion, respectively. The Boston Celtics are also in the top tier, valued at $5.5 billion, as they prepare to sell a majority stake in the team, while the Sacramento Kings rank 14th at $4.45 billion. The Portland Trail Blazers, owned by Jody Allen's trust, are valued at $3.3 billion and are not currently for sale despite previous offers. The valuations, which are based on enterprise values including revenue and arena economics, highlight significant increases across the league, particularly under current ownerships. Notably, the Kings have seen a dramatic rise in value since Vivek Ranadivé's acquisition in 2013. Additionally, the methodology for these valuations considers various financial factors including team revenue and debt, while excluding non-NBA business interests.
