James Richburg Arrested for Bus Shooting

Baltimore police have arrested 61-year-old James Richburg in connection with the fatal shooting of 30-year-old William Womack on an MTA bus on November 30. The dispute, which escalated into violence, occurred while Womack was leaving the bus, during which Richburg allegedly shot him after a verbal exchange. Richburg was apprehended on December 9 while riding another MTA bus, and he faces charges of first-degree murder. Police Commissioner Richard Worley emphasized the tragic nature of the incident, describing it as a senseless act following a minor argument. The police investigation was aided by surveillance video and public tips, highlighting the community's cooperation. Richburg is a convicted felon, previously prohibited from owning a firearm, raising additional legal concerns regarding the case.
