AJ Styles recently revealed that a serious injury he sustained during a match on October 4, 2024, nearly ended his wrestling career. Initially diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury, Styles described the severity of the condition, which involves tendons and is often career-threatening, particularly in sports like football. Despite being advised by his doctor to avoid researching the injury due to its serious implications, Styles did so and learned that it could have been career-ending. Instead of opting for surgery, which could have led to future complications, he chose to undergo therapy, which required him to relearn how to walk and run. After several months of recovery, Styles made a triumphant return during the Royal Rumble match in January 2025. He expressed gratitude for being able to return to wrestling, acknowledging the difficult journey he faced during his rehabilitation.
