Apple TV+ is expanding its acclaimed series 'For All Mankind' with a new spinoff titled 'Star City,' which will explore the space race from the Soviet perspective. Recently announced cast members include Adam Nagaitis as Valya, a respected cosmonaut, Josef Davies as Sergei, a talented engineer, and Ruby Ashbourne Serkis as Tanya, a cosmonaut's wife facing the challenges of life in Star City. The show promises a paranoid thriller atmosphere and will delve into the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and spies behind the Iron Curtain. Creators Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi are returning to helm the project, which was announced in April 2024 alongside the renewal of the original series for a fifth season. The narrative will highlight the risks taken by those involved in the Soviet space program, marking a significant shift in the storytelling of the franchise. 'Star City' aims to bring a fresh perspective to the established alternate history of the U.S.-Soviet space competition.
