BNB Chain X Account Hacked With Fake Rewards Scam

The official X account for BNB Chain was compromised and Binance co-founder Changpeng "CZ" Zhao warned users not to click recent links after unauthorized posts appeared. Attackers posted a fraudulent link promoting a fake "$BSC rewards" vote that promised early rewards to create urgency and to trick users into connecting wallets via tools like WalletConnect, risking immediate loss of funds if users interacted. Outlets including Decrypt and Coinpedia verified the hijack and reported Binance's security teams have begun investigating. Binance filed takedown requests for the phishing sites and asked X to suspend the compromised account. Users are advised to avoid interacting with BNB Chain posts until the account is confirmed secure, as phishing operations increasingly exploit verified accounts to steal digital assets.
