A 2-year-old girl in Des Moines, Washington, was accidentally shot in the neck by her 3-year-old sibling over the weekend while the mother was in another room. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at an apartment on Pacific Highway South. The child, who was taken to Harborview Medical Center, is currently in stable condition. Des Moines Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding how the child obtained the small-caliber handgun. No arrests have been made, and the case will be submitted to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. Meanwhile, a separate incident in Charlotte, North Carolina, involved a 2-year-old being shot in an apartment complex, currently under investigation by local police.
