SP Urges Bihar CM to Reconsider BJP Support

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Uttar Pradesh government for obstructing access to the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) on the birth anniversary of socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan. Yadav accused the government of using tin sheets to block entry, allegedly to hide something or prepare the site for sale, and urged Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to reconsider his party's support for the BJP-led central government, citing the insult to Narayan's legacy. The BJP defended the action, citing construction safety concerns, while also accusing Yadav of politicizing the issue. The Samajwadi Party condemned these actions as attacks on democracy and disrespectful to Narayan's contributions. The JPNIC, inaugurated by Yadav in 2016, remains incomplete, with construction halted since the BJP took power in Uttar Pradesh.
