A veteran handler, Melissa Reynolds, 47, was mauled by a tiger at Dreamworld theme park on Australia’s Gold Coast, suffering serious lacerations and puncture wounds to her arm and shoulder. The incident occurred shortly before the park opened, and Reynolds was quickly taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable condition after first aid was administered by park staff. Dreamworld described the attack as an 'isolated and rare incident' and has promised a thorough investigation. This is not the first tiger-related incident at the park, with previous attacks reported in 2011 and 2022. Dreamworld's Tiger Island exhibit, home to nine Sumatran and Bengal tigers, is known for its interactive experiences with visitors.
