Arkansas Couple Charged with Selling Baby

Darien Urban, 21, and Shalene Ehlers, 20, from Arkansas were arrested for allegedly attempting to sell their two-month-old baby at a campground for $1,000 and a six-pack of beer. The incident was reported to authorities by the campground manager on September 21, after witnesses confirmed that the couple had drafted a document transferring custody of their child to another individual. This document included a disclaimer stating the child could not be returned. Law enforcement discovered the infant in dire need of medical attention, showing signs of severe neglect including a dirty diaper and rash. The couple faces felony charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and attempting to accept compensation for relinquishing a minor. The child is now under the care of the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
