Partnerships Advance Solar Energy Accessibility
HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (HASI) has formed a partnership with IGS Solar to finance residential solar and energy storage projects across the U.S., beginning with a 71 MW portfolio set for 2025. Homeowners will benefit from 25-year leases on rooftop solar systems, which are expected to help save on electricity bills, particularly in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. IGS Solar, which has financed over $1 billion in solar projects since 2017, anticipates that this collaboration will enable the deployment of solar systems for up to 60,000 customers over the next three years. In a separate initiative, Ipsun Solar is working with Montgomery County Green Bank to offer subsidized solar loans to local residents, enabling access to solar power while promoting financial savings in underserved communities. Additionally, the Climate Access Fund has launched a community solar project in Baltimore, projected to save low-income households nearly $1 million over 35 years. These initiatives collectively aim to enhance access to affordable solar energy and reduce energy burdens for various communities.
