Missing Teen Found Dead in Lake Norman Drowning

The body of 14-year-old Angel Ernesto Carabello, reported missing on July 9 in the Stutts Road area of Mooresville, Iredell County, was found later that day in Lake Norman. Authorities determined that Carabello died by accidental drowning, with no foul play suspected, though the investigation is ongoing. He was last seen entering the lake on a raft while his father worked on a lakeside house renovation. Multiple search teams, including drone units and lake patrol, participated in the search, and a remotely operated vehicle recovered his body.
