Global Rights Group Accuses Athletes of Neutrality Violations

Global Rights Compliance reported that numerous Russian and Belarusian athletes cleared to participate in the Paris Olympics have violated the IOC's rules on neutrality concerning the war in Ukraine, urging the IOC to exclude them. The athletes, among those cleared by the IOC, have shown support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, leading to calls for their ban from the Games. The human rights group highlighted that many athletes had affiliations with military agencies or openly backed the war, contravening IOC guidelines. Despite warnings and evidence presented, the IOC has not taken action, raising concerns about the organization's commitment to its own policies and human rights principles.
