British comedian and actor Matt Lucas was forced to withdraw mid-performance from the Australian leg of the 'Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular' tour after losing his voice during the song 'Master of the House.' Lucas, who plays Monsieur Thénardier, was replaced by co-star Connor Jones for the second act as he rested to recover. Lucas shared on social media that in over 30 years of performing, this was the first time he had to bow out of a show, expressing hope to return soon. The tour, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the original London production, is running across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane through May and June 2025. Additionally, Lucas recently issued an apology to actress Millie Bobby Brown after using a catchphrase from his 'Little Britain' character in a context that was perceived as mocking.
