Runners from Coventry, Gravesend, Nantwich prepare for London Marathon

As the London Marathon approaches, several inspiring runners are preparing to participate for personal and charitable reasons. At 73, Lesley Keighley is set to run her 12th London Marathon, dedicating the race to her late husband, while Danielle Germaine, a cancer survivor, sees the marathon as a testament to her recovery journey after battling oesophageal cancer. Meanwhile, Caroline Johnson and Rob Keithley are training for the marathon to raise funds for the Brain & Spine Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support, respectively, aiming for a collective fundraising target of £9,000. Babette Powell, an experienced marathon runner, is also participating to support the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, highlighting the charity's mission to assist veterans through trips and events. Each runner embodies resilience and commitment, using their participation to inspire others and contribute to meaningful causes. The marathon is scheduled for April 27, 2025.
