Decatur Police Responds to Incident on West Side

The Huntsville Police Department is currently accepting applications for its Citizens Police Academy, aimed at providing participants with an in-depth understanding of law enforcement operations. This nine-week program will include classroom sessions, interactive activities, and ride-alongs with officers, fostering community engagement and transparency. Classes will convene every Tuesday evening starting April 29, with an application deadline of February 28. Similarly, Jackson's Citizen Police Academy will commence on April 8, offering a similar curriculum designed to familiarize residents with police procedures and operations. Both programs emphasize strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and their respective communities. Applications for both academies can be submitted online or in person at their respective police departments.
