Mahesh Pandey, a television scriptwriter and director known for 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay', was arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly defrauding film producer Jatin Sethi of Rs 2.65 crore. Following a complaint filed on May 10, the police found that Pandey breached a contractual agreement and created a fake email ID to mislead Sethi regarding payments from Prasar Bharati. Despite having received the funds, Pandey delayed payments, claiming various reasons, which Sethi discovered to be false. Pandey was placed in police custody for two days before being remanded to judicial custody by the court. Additionally, Pandey’s wife and three brothers have also been implicated in the case under multiple charges, including cheating and breach of trust. The investigation continues as authorities delve deeper into the alleged fraud.
