17-Year-Old Arrested for Sanford School Shooting Threats

A 17-year-old student from Elevation High School in Sanford, Florida, was arrested after threatening to shoot up Seminole High School via an online video. The video depicted the teen with multiple guns and vests, and he expressed intentions to carry out the attack during lunch or between classes. Following an anonymous tip, Sanford Police, in collaboration with various local and federal agencies, arrested the teen within 24 hours, preventing a potential tragedy. The weapons shown in the video were later found to be realistic Airsoft replicas rather than actual firearms. The teen was charged with making an electronic threat of mass shooting. Authorities have increased security at the school as a precautionary measure.
