MK Dons sign Derby wing-back Kane Wilson pending approval
MK Dons have signed defender Kane Wilson from Derby County for an undisclosed fee, marking their 10th signing of the summer. Wilson, 25, reunited with manager Paul Warne, who had previously coached him at Derby and League One, and was a major factor in his decision to join the club. The wing-back, known for his attacking runs and dribbling, aims to excite the fans and contribute both offensively and defensively at MK Dons. Wilson played 85 times for Derby, was part of their promotion-winning squad in the 2023/24 season, and was previously named League Two Player of the Season with Forest Green Rovers. Despite his importance to Derby County and praise from the current manager, Wilson's move to a League Two side was met with surprise and mixed reactions from fans and pundits. MK Dons are bolstering their defense after injuries to key full-backs, expecting Wilson to play a significant role immediately.
