Netanyahu Orders Accelerated Gaza City Capture To End War Quickly
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized his determination to end the war against Hamas in Gaza as soon as possible by accelerating the military operation to capture Gaza City and dismantle the remaining Hamas strongholds. Despite international pressure and criticism, Netanyahu rejects truce negotiations, accusing Hamas of making impossible demands and refusing to disarm, asserting that defeating Hamas is the only way to secure the release of Israeli hostages. Israel currently controls about 70 to 75 percent of Gaza under military control, and the plan involves relocating around one million Palestinians to safer areas with proper infrastructure. Netanyahu insists that this military strategy is the best option to end the 22-month conflict, which has resulted in heavy casualties on both sides, including tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths and dozens of hostages still held by Hamas. Following Hamas's defeat, Israel intends to maintain security responsibility in Gaza and establish a non-Israeli civilian administration. Netanyahu also highlighted efforts to coordinate a humanitarian surge with the United States to support displaced civilians during the operation.
