AVAIO Digital Plans $6B AI Data Center Campus Mississippi

AVAIO Digital is investing $6 billion to build a new data center campus named AVAIO Digital Taurus in Brandon, Mississippi, aiming to accelerate the state's growing tech sector and establish the Greater Jackson area as a hub for cloud computing and AI development. The 175-acre site will feature over 600,000 square feet of data center buildings and 116 megawatts of power, with construction expected to complete in the first half of 2027. The facility is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating water-efficient cooling, rainwater recapture, rooftop solar, and other energy-saving features. Governor Tate Reeves highlighted the project's significance as the third largest investment in Mississippi's history, emphasizing its potential to transform the local economy and create at least 60 high-tech jobs along with hundreds of indirect jobs. The campus will offer high-speed, low-latency connectivity with direct access to major data center hubs in Dallas and Atlanta, supported by Entergy Mississippi's reliable power supply. The Mississippi Development Authority and local governments are supporting the project through tax exemptions and site development assistance.
