JuJu Watkins Documentary Series Premieres on NBC

USC basketball star JuJu Watkins is set to star in and executive produce a new docuseries titled 'On the Rise: JuJu Watkins,' premiering on NBC and Peacock on November 23. The series will showcase her life on and off the court, highlighting her journey from high school to her record-setting freshman season at USC, where she became the all-time leading scorer among freshmen in Division I history. The first two episodes will air ahead of a game against Notre Dame, with subsequent episodes exclusively available on Peacock. This project, backed by UNINTERRUPTED and 4.4.Forty Media and produced by LeBron James, represents a novel approach to sports docuseries, focusing on a current collegiate athlete's experiences. Watkins, who recently signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Nike, aims to share her values and personal story through this series. The innovative format is seen as setting a new standard for storytelling in sports media, particularly in women's basketball.
