Paramount has announced that 'The Big Bang Theory' will join its Nick at Nite and MTV lineups starting December 24, marking the first time reruns of the sitcom will air on networks other than TBS, its exclusive home for over 13 years. The series will kick off with a two-day marathon of holiday-themed episodes, followed by regular airings starting December 27, and an all-day New Year's marathon on MTV beginning January 1. The licensing agreement, negotiated with Warner Bros., allows for non-exclusive rights, ensuring that TBS remains part of the lineup. The show, which ran for 12 seasons on CBS, continues to be a cultural staple and is set to rotate through all 12 seasons on both networks. Additionally, Chuck Lorre reflected on the show's challenging beginnings, noting that an initially disliked character nearly led to its cancellation before it found success.
