Over 1,500 Students Compete in Sioux City Choir Event

Various school choirs and performances highlighted the power of music and community engagement this month. East High School hosted the 'Sing All About It' competition, featuring around 1,500 students from middle and high schools, showcasing their talents in a full day of performances. Meanwhile, the African Children’s Choir is on a U.S. tour celebrating its 40th anniversary, emphasizing the transformative impact of music on children from vulnerable backgrounds in Africa. In Lincoln County, students were preparing for choir, band, and drama performances, including a rendition of 'Alice in Wonderland.' Additionally, the Palisades Charter High School choir, despite being displaced by wildfires, made a significant appearance at the Grammy Awards, turning their trauma into a healing experience through music. Lastly, the Free State High School Firebirds will present their 'Encore' performances, featuring a mix of songs from different eras, further reflecting the diverse musical talents of students.
