Multi-Vehicle Rollover Crash Closes SB Lanes on I-95, Fort Lauderdale

Caltrans is set to close lanes on Highway 101 overnight to facilitate roadwork aimed at improving safety at the intersection with Wellsona Road, noted as one of San Luis Obispo County's deadliest intersections. The project, which has been in the works since 2017, includes constructing a 112-foot underpass to eliminate hazardous left turns across traffic. Lane closures will occur from 7 p.m. on March 26 to 6 a.m. on March 27, with at least one lane remaining open in each direction during the work. The roadwork is part of a $12.2 million initiative designed to reduce collisions and improve traffic flow in the area. Additionally, access to Wellsona Road will be modified during the construction period. The project aims to enhance safety for both drivers and cyclists in this high-traffic region.
